Online casino players are
learning today that
Pennsylvania's
bumpy road to
casino gambling remains -
well bumpy.
The new road block is over how
to implement slot machines to
14 casinos in the state.
Once again, the
Pennsylvania Gaming Control
Board members has failed to pass
rules regarding the
licensing and operation of
in-state slot-machine supply
houses. Those supply
houses, by law, must be licensed
before casinos are.
The
board voted 6-1 in favor of a
plan to split the state into two
separate divisions. The plan is a
concession to oblige those
who claim that having more
regions would create jobs and
benefit small businesses or
those run by women and
minorities.
T
he
plan failed because major
decisions need approval from all
four legislative caucus
appointees, and the negative
vote was cast by Commissioner
Ken McCabe, who represents
Senate Republican leaders.
Pennsylvania
state's gambling expansion law
entails licenses for suppliers
to be issued 90 days before any
casino licenses are permitted.
Since the board has not been
able to take applications from
would-be suppliers, things are
on hold again.
We
will be watching the new
developments regarding this on
behalf of our online casino
players.
