WSOP getting
tense with only 569 players left
July 12
Alright online casino players (those of
you not in Vegas actually playing in the
event), things are staring to really heat up
at the 2005 World Series of Poker.
With
only 569 of the 5,619
players left in the
game, many online casinos are keeping an eye
on the biggest WSOP in history.
Let us put
it this way, at this point just about all
remaining poker players will earn at least
$12,500.
Keeping in mind that t
he
minimum earnings at this point will not
satisfy any of the eager players, they are
there to win big time, tensions are heating.
The remaining players are in Vegas with one
thing in mind and that is winning the event
that will pay a record $7.5 million.
A
spot at the final table will earn a minimum
of $1 million to each of the 9 players
sitting at it.
Many of the most powerful players that
were expected to do well are already out of
the game. This is a bit of a surprise to
many online casino enthusiasts, many who
were/are in the event themselves. In fact,
this year's WSOP has more online casino and
online poker players than ever before
playing to get their hands on the big prize.
Still in the race, is last year's winner
Greg Fossilman Raymer. He stands in
9th place.
In one of the most entertaining moments
of this year's event so far, Raymer caught a
full house on the very last card to win a
pot of $185,000 bucks. Sweet.
Raymer still has
around $340,000 in chips left.
Leader
Rod Pardey Jr.
still has around $750,000 left to play with.
Keep an eye on Sam Farha who is still
in the game, too. He was 2nd to Chris
Moneymaker in 2003.
We all know that women are winning left
and right at online casinos. At the WSOP,
Barbara Enright (who
placed 5th in 1995) is still in the game.
We will keep you posted all week for the
latest WSOP news. Stay put.
