WSOP 5th round
has big names making big moves
July 14
We are getting
closer and closer to the end of the World
Series of Poker and all online casino
gambling eyes are peeled. Maybe it's because
so many online casino players have entered
the WSOP this year. In fact, there are more
players at this year's event from online
casinos than ever before.
Now that there are only a few poker
tables left at the WSOP, the pros are coming
out swinging. We knew it would get more
tense, but with many of the pros being
patient until now, we just didn't know when.
The top 2 players on the board at the end
of Wednesday's round were Mike Matusow
- AKA The Mouth
and Phil Ivey (in first). A mere 27 players
were left to play in the poker event at the
end of the day.
Once Matusow's very
heavy game-play obliterated several other
players, he earned enough to knock Tim Phan
out of first place. Matosow ended with $5.1
million in front of Phil Ivey's $4.6
million.
Notable players making and exit were John
Juanda and
Farzad Bonyadi.
Last Year's champ,
Greg Raymer, fell out
of the top 30 at one point - but regained
enough strength to end in 5th place last
night.
Raymer commented that Tuesday was bad -
and Wednesday was good.
After 6 days of intense game-play, it
seems the pros are taking over and
dominating over the other gamblers - many of
whom were online casino players.
Many observers feel that until this
point, most of the big names have played it
safe and smart. Well, with this much
excitement going on already, we look forward
to seeing what last-minute unsafe playing
will be like.
