Online
poker tournament worth millions starts
next month
August 17
One of the world's
largest poker tournaments will start next
month, and it will be online -too.
Starting September 4th, online poker
players from all over the planet will be
logging-on to stake their claim on millions
of dollars playing the World Championship of
Online Poker. The grand prize will top $8
million dollars. The event runs through
September 18th.
All this is happening right online, not
at a fancy Vegas casino on some celebrity TV
poker show. It will be hosted on
PokerStars.com, the
well-known online poker room based in Costa
Rica. In fact, this is the 4th time this
poker room has hosted this poker event. This
year, as many as ten thousand players are
expected to join-in on the action.
The poker tournament
will include 15 poker rounds that will
include the final main event where finalist
will play a nail-biting no-limit
Texas Holdem grand finale. The prize pool
for the final round starts at $2.5 million.
Wow!
Though it will be
played regarding the same principals, the World
Championship of Online Poker isn't aiming to
compete with the famed World Series of
Poker played on land - but it is the online
version do doubt. There will even be many
players from the famed event playing online
this year.
